기원 맥문동 Liriope platyphylla Wang et Tang 또는 소엽맥문동 Ophiopogon japonicus Ker-Gawler (백합과 Liliaceae)의 뿌리의 팽대부
약성/귀경 달고(甘) 약간 쓰고(微苦) 약간 차다(微寒). 폐(肺), 심(心), 위경(胃經)에 작용한다.
효능 윤폐양음(潤肺養陰), 익위생진(益胃生津), 청심제열(淸心除熱), 겸능윤장(兼能潤腸) 윤폐(潤肺): a therapeutic method to treat lung dryness pattern/syndrome by using moistening medicinals 양음약(養陰藥): a medicinal that tonifies and nourishes yin fluid, the same as the yin-nourishing or yin-replenishing medicinal 양위(養胃): a therapeutic method to treat stomach yin deficiency pattern/syndrome, the same as to tonify the stomach yin or to nourish the stomach 생진(生津): a therapeutic method to treat fluid depletion with fluid-nourishing medicinals 청심(淸心): a therapeutic method to treat pathogen entering the heart or pericardium in a warm disease 청열(淸熱): a therapeutic method of clearing pathogenic heat 윤장(潤腸): a therapeutic method for constipation due to intestinal dryness by using moistening medicinals
