On behalf of Cochrane Canada and the Local Organizing Committee, we welcome you to the 2020 Cochrane Colloquium. We hope you will join us from October 4-7, 2020 at the 27th annual Cochrane Colloquium for a series of keynote and oral sessions featuring a distinguished roster of international speakers. Together, we will explore the many characteristics of rapid-learning health systems, including patient and public engagement, timely analysis and sharing of data, timely synthesis of evidence (including 'living reviews'), decision supports such as patient decision aids and guidelines as well as the role of artificial intelligence within these systems.

Toronto, Ontario is the largest and most vibrant city in Canada. As the fourth largest city in North America, it is one of the most multicultural cities in the world. Additionally, Toronto, alongside Canada’s other cosmopolitan cities are clean, safe and friendly, repeatedly assisting Canada in being lauded as one of the world’s most liveable countries.

Located along Lake Ontario’s northwestern shore, the city core contains soaring skyscrapers and the iconic, free-standing CN Tower. However, the city also contains many of the green spaces that Canada is known for; from the oval of Queen’s Park (the centre of provincial government) to the 400-acre High Park, Evergreen Brickworks and numerous trails for hiking and biking that connect the city. The Niagara Peninsula, home to Canada’s most popular wine region and Niagara Falls, is just a short drive away.

The expanse of Canada’s natural beauty from mountains and glaciers to secluded lakes and forest is almost unparalleled worldwide. From the Rocky Mountains in the west to the old-world charm of Quebec and the coves, cliffs and lighthouses on our eastern coast, we hope you will join us in 2020 and take time to appreciate the beauty and hospitality of Toronto and its surrounding area.
