In a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled exploratory trial of 16 head and neck cancer patients receiving TPF induction chemotherapy, TJ-14 mouthwash significantly reduced the duration of >=grade 2 oral mucositis compared with placebo (1.7 vs 3.7 days, p=0.039). The incidence of >=grade 2 OM was 37.5% (TJ-14) vs 50.0% (placebo) and overall OM incidence was 75.0% vs 87.5%, neither significantly different. Mean day of onset was day 9.7 (TJ-14) vs 6.7 (placebo). Chemotherapy-related adverse events did not differ between groups and no TJ-14 related adverse events occurred [​3​].

In an open-label, randomized, three-period, two-sequence trial in 14 healthy Korean adults, co-administration of BBCT reduced the Cmax of atorvastatin by 24% (21.2 -> 17.7 ng/mL), while AUClast and AUCinf were statistically equivalent to atorvastatin alone. For the active metabolite 2-hydroxy atorvastatin, BBCT reduced Cmax by 30.2%, AUClast by 14.9% and AUCinf by 14.8%. 4-hydroxy atorvastatin was largely unaffected [2].
